Lynn Hattery

PRACTICE OVERVIEW

Ms. Hattery practices in Family Law, Personal Injury, and Landlord-Tenant disputes throughout Hampton Roads. She skillfully represents clients dealing with a wide range of issues including divorce, child custody and support, child support arrearages, spousal support, and guardianship. Lynn takes pride in being responsive toward each client and thoroughly understanding his or her issues, which she then uses to excel in the courtroom. She enjoys helping her family law clients choose their best approach to successfully navigate their legal process and reach the finish line as quickly as possible.

Ms. Hattery has successfully represented a number of complex personal injury cases. Early in her career, Ms. Hattery represented major insurance companies in litigation and in recommending settlement values for incoming claims. She draws upon her insurance background and knowledge when negotiating on behalf of her injured clients and makes sure her clients are fairly compensated for their injuries, pain, and suffering. Ms. Hattery has over 16 years’ litigation experience. She routinely represents landlords and tenants in disputes in courts throughout Hampton Roads. In this vein, Ms. Hattery works closely with realtors and property management companies as well as individual landlords and tenants.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

A native of Hampton Roads, Ms. Hattery is a graduate of Norfolk Christian Schools and The University of Virginia where she received her Bachelor of Arts in American Government. Upon graduating from UVA, Ms. Hattery followed her keen interest in helping others through the practice of law and pursued legal studies at The T.C. Williams School of Law at The University of Richmond. There she served on Law Review and represented her law school in the National Negotiations Competition. She was selected for a Third-Year-In-Practice program where she worked for The Central Virginia Legal Aid Society prior to earning her law degree.

BAR ADMISSIONS:

Ms. Hattery is admitted to practice in the Superior and Inferior Courts of this Commonwealth and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. She is an active member of the Virginia State Bar, Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association, and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Ms. Hattery is a member of the Family Law and Real Estate Sections of the Virginia State Bar Association. When not engaged in helping her numerous clients, you may find her supporting her son’s Lacrosse team and nonprofits that focus on financial literacy and youth development.
