PRACTICE OVERVIEW
Mr. Levy has substantial experience in all areas of commercial and residential real estate, including the acquisition, development, financing, leasing, construction, and sale of apartment projects, office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, mixed-use projects, and residential developments. He regularly advised developers, builders, investors, lenders, landlords, tenants, property managers, estates and individuals on real estate matters, including among other aspects, land use and zoning issues. In addition to his real estate practice, Mr. Levy advises and assists clients with wills, trusts and estate planning and administration, as well as the organization, purchase and sale of business entities.
EXPERIENCE
A native of Hampton Roads, Mr. Levy returned to the area after completing his undergraduate and graduate studies and serving his country as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Prior to joining Sykes, Bourdon, Ahern & Levy, P.C., Mr. Levy was associated with Troutman Sanders in Virginia Beach and Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Levy has represented a wide variety of clients in the purchase and financing of commercial and residential projects. He has obtained rezonings, conditional use permits, expansions of nonconformities and text amendments to municipal ordinances as required for the development of shopping centers, hotels, offices and other commercial and mixed use projects. He has also served as counsell to a national telecommunications client in its acquisition of easements and leases required for the maintenance of telecommunications towers and related assets.

EDUCATION; BAR ADMISSIONS; AUTHORSHIPS
Mr. Levy attended Norfolk Academy, graduating in 1985. He then attended the University of Virginia where, as an Echols Scholar, he received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. While on active duty with the Marines, Mr. Levy earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Southern California. He later returned to Virginia and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar Associations and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Through his association with the Firm, Mr. Levy is an affiliate member of the Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association, the Tidewater Builders Association, the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and the Central Business District Association. Mr. Levy is also and experienced speaker on real estate law and land use issues. He serves on the Board of Directors of Jewish Family Services of Tidewater.
